Historia Rossica

Explorations in Russian history in post-Soviet Russia typically fall in into either of the two pitfalls: crude empiricism or the neo-imperial mythologizing of the past. There is a palpable shortage of studies that would combine solid research and profound knowledge of primary sources with a conceptual framework within wich these sources could be interpreted. The Historia Rossica series was launched with an explicit purpose of remedying this lacuna. It offers monographs written by both Russian and foreign historians on little known or previously censored aspects of Russian history.
